I took my Buell Blast in to GS H-D on Friday for a final round of modifications. The air filter was replaced with a high performance K&N air filter and I had the carb re-jetted. hmmm... I also had the custom tachometer mounted. So, I've been riding my bike quite a bit. I would say that the new air filter and re-jetting the carb gave her a few extra horse power, but really... the Vance & Hines pipe that was installed a while ago gave her the biggest performance boost. According to the husband, if you give my bike a little power and pop the clutch her front tire will lift off of the ground (wheelies anyone?). The tachometer really helps with "performance riding." Awww... she's so cute... my little hotrod. Well, that's it...the next performance modification will be a new bigger bike...sometime next year. pix posted soon...
I came home to a little brown box at my doorstep. Is it here finally? Yes, my custom tachometer *finally* arrived. A quick call to GS H-D confirmed that my K & N air filter arrived too. So, this coming Friday I'm taking the bike in for a final round of modifications. I'm going to have my tachometer installed (non-factory), hopefully have the air intake box removed leaving a naked K & N air filter exposed, and my carb rejetted. I think this is all I can do to this bike to achieve maximum performance. sigh... hmmm... warm fuzzies...more horse power... sigh...
