  • Aug. 4th, 2009 at 10:28 AM
nothing new to report... cuz I'm still sick with bronchitis. I still have gunk in my lungs, so the doc put me on a more potent steroid regime and antibiotics. blech! Apparently, I have this to look forward to anytime I catch anything. it super sux... I haven't ridden my bike in 15 days. I woke up missing my bike this morning, so I might go on a short ride later just to get some wind in the kisser.

Update: I did not go on that ride... :.(

Bronchitis & boob ride

I hate bronchitis. Now with my asthma and as a precursor to my asthma I'm coming down with bronchitis 3-4 times per year. It's becoming clock work. I get exposed to something like a cold, I get the cold, then in a couple of days...bronchitis. The bronchitis kicks my ass. It's so draining. All of this gunk in my lungs and my body trying to expel it. blech! And, talk about no sleep... I lay down and it's nothing but hacking. I'm on the usual course of meds: steroid shot, oral steroids, antibiotics, and cough medicine w/ codeine to help me sleep without coughing. Apparently, those with asthma are very susceptible to getting sick. I'm living proof. Anway, it turns into a 2 freakn week ordeal while my body battles the bronchitis and fatigue. I missed the boob poker run today! For the second year in a row! I wanted to show up to ride with my boobs emphasized somehow... I mean it is a run for the boobs. (violins anyone?)

At least I'm reading a lot and working on statistics issues while working on research conundrums. But, it gets boring. Those of you who know me know that I'm such an active person that *needs* physical action of some kind. My brain demands balance!

Well, I don't like being a passenger on my own bike. I'm recovering from being sick. It's way too common for me get sick now due to my asthma. I actually needed to take steroids to even start recovering from this stupid cold. I bring this up because it's 60 outside and I'm not riding. So, I asked the hubby for a ride. The kick stand spring broke on his bike today and he wasn't in the mood to take his bike out. I warmed my bike up for a ride around the block... on the back. ughhh... My bike, being a sport bike, places the passenger right up on the rider. It's hard for the passenger to balance or brace on the foot pegs in the forward position. I didn't like it at all. I enjoyed getting out for a bit to get a little wind in my face. But, if I'm going to ride as a passenger, I'd prefer to ride on the back of my husband's bike and not my own. sigh... I'm just starting to feel better and now it's going to get cold again. |\ If it's 40 out, I'm going to have to take my bike out for a ride.

update: I just got back from a short ride piloting my own bike. I'm beat, but mentally I'm feeling better. :)
